Leland Sperr passed away last September and it was his birthday this Monday, so it was a perfect time for his loving wife to dedicate the episode.
Leland always had a joke up his sleeve and a witty comeback. He was a friend to all and loved farming, his family, and pulling pranks! Leland, you are missed.

On this week’s show, our wonderful guest speaker dedicated the episode to her mother, Rita, and Rita’s father, Paul.
Leah said that even though she only had her mom in her life for 10 short years, she learned so much during that time on what being a good mom means.
She lived with her grandpa until her mid-twenties and said that she would give anything to take a slow ride to the grocery store with him just one more time.

This week we remembered Vera “Nana” Root. She loved her family deeply and went out of her way to make family gatherings special. She would send grandkids “gifts from the north pole,” water skied into her 60’s, and loved to play cards while laughing. Nana passed away during the pandemic which meant her funeral was postponed and that was very hard on her family. Nana, you are missed!

This episode was very special because we had a guest come on to do the dedication - it was awesome! If you are interested in doing that yourself (or would just like to honor a loved one), please let me know.
John Meany was a father, friend, and always on the look out for signs of suicide. John was unfortunately died far too young of cancer and is dearly missed by all who knew him. In his honor, please remember to be a real friend this week - have the tough conversations, they are worth it.

This week was dedicated to my wonderful grandpa, Paul Sir. He loved living on his farm and raising his 8 kids. He had a magical way of making every single person he met feel special and listened to.
Legacy: In his honor, go out of your way to have a completely distraction free conversation with someone you care about.

Our guest speaker, Colleen Pulvermacher, dedicated this episode to her mom. Her mother was a fantastic letter writer and Colleen encourages us all to write one this week in her mother’s honor!

Glenn Blum was nominated by his daughter, Erika (who was the guest speaker). He was known by his famous mutton chops and his voice of an angel that he shared with his church. Erika says that he shaped her into who she is today and he is so very missed.
Legacy: In honor of Glenn, please take some time to SING this week! Remember what it is like to use your voice and feel how therapeutic it can be.

This episode was a special dedication to someone Susan, who submitted the dedication, had never met. Her daughter-in-law, Jamie, lost both her dad and her aunt on the same day when she was 17. Jamie is hard working, kind, and resilient. Susan says that through knowing Jamie she knows her father and aunt because their memory lives through her.
Legacy: This week, think of the people who live on through you and name how they do that.

Louise Merchlewitz was my mom’s mom and was so special to me and my sisters. She loved game shows, birds, gardening, going for walks, cards with friends, reading, and cooking. She was excellent at staying in touch with her loved ones and always cared about what was going on in their lives. She spent many years volunteering at St. Vincent’s in Bullhead City, AZ where she wintered.
Legacy: In her honor, please call someone that you love today just to check in.
